This is a magnificent, colored and informative map of Russia and Neighboring Countries. Shown are Lithuania, Lapland, Astrakhan, Persia, Turkmenistan, the Mughal Empire, the Realm of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The map shows the Iceland of Novaya Zemlya. On the bottom left is a large title cartouche Which covers the greater part of The Black Sea, where the title and author are identified. On the center at the bottom is a mileage scale. The top has left the representation of Tsar Ivan IV Vasilyevich (also known as "Ivan The Terrible '1530-1584) with a scepter in a festively decorated tent. Tsar Ivan IV was the first Russian Grand Duke, who was crowned Czar and had the longest reign in Russian history. Present are less known territories show stereotypical scenes, such as the local gods of idolatry and sun worship. This map is known for its accurate width determination for distance between the Volga and the Danube estuary. This map appeared in Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, the scale is 1:12,000,000. Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598) was one of the most important figures in cartographer in this period. He is best known for his 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' generally considered the first Atlas. Prachtvolle, kolorierte und informative Karte von Russland und den angrenzenden Ländern. Dargestellt werden Litauen, Lappland, Astrachan, Persien, Turkmenistan, das Mogul-Reich, Kasachstan, das Reich der und Kirgisien. Die Karten deutet im Norden noch die Insel Nowaja Semlja an. Unten links eine große Titelkartusche in Sockelform, die den größeren Teil des Schwarzen Meers verdeckt. Der Titel ist datiert und nennt den Autor Jenkinson. Darunter ein Privileg. Am unteren Rand ein Meilenzeiger. Oben links die Darstellung von Zar Iwan IV. Wassiljewitsch (auch der Schreckliche) (1530-1584) mit Zepter in einem festlich geschmückten Zelt. Zar Iwan IV. war der erste russische Großfürst, der sich zum Zaren krönen ließ. Er war derjenige Herrscher, der die längste Zeit in der gesamten russischen Geschichte regierte. Das Reich der Moskowiter – das russische Zarenreich – ist das Gebiet auf der Karte, das am detailliertesten beschrieben ist. Zahlreiche Orte füllen die Fläche. Andere, weniger bekannte Territorien zeigen stereotype Szenen, wie Götzendienste an einheimischen Gottheiten, Sonnenanbetung. Diese Karte ist bekannt für die sehr genaue Breitenbestimmung für das Gebiet zwischen Wolga- und Dwinamündung.
